Who would have thought that such elegant words could be connected with industrial consumables like steel shot, and that they would be inseparably linked? The founder of Sohigh, Mr. Hou Zhibin, has grown from a pump worker at Jinan Steel Group into a leader in the national steel shot industry. Today, we will share with you the story of how this journey unfolded…

27 years ago, Mr. Hou Zhibin graduated from Jinan Steel Vocational School and joined Jinan Steel Power Plant as a pump worker. Although the income was not high, life was relatively comfortable, with work following a steady routine. It wasn’t until 2015 that a failed investment disrupted this peaceful life. Due to poor judgment in friendships, Mr. Hou was defrauded of 150,000 RMB in an investment related to the steel shot business. What made the situation worse was that the money was borrowed by mortgaging his house without informing his family.

At an age when one is expected to have clear vision and understanding, Mr. Hou found himself lost and disoriented. Instead of lingering in uncertainty, he chose to face the challenges head-on, rising every time he fell. Despite knowing nothing about the steel shot industry, Mr. Hou began researching steel shot, forming a deep connection with it, and gradually integrating into the field.

In the early stages of his entrepreneurship, the team consisted of only three people. Mr. Hou himself started in sales, tirelessly traveling to find business, attend trade shows, and visit clients. Despite the limited conditions, he never neglected his personal appearance when meeting customers. Personal image and professionalism were his first stepping stones to success. Meanwhile, he used his spare time to study cutting-edge internet business practices, analyze the market and customer needs, and lay a solid foundation for the company’s development.

Opportunity favors the prepared, and during a promotional trip south, Mr. Hou met a manager from a company who was immediately impressed by him. They decided to try the steel shot he introduced. After a period of testing, the client highly recognized his product and character. Mr. Hou earned his “first bucket of gold” after three months. What shapes our future is not our past experiences, but the meaning we attach to them.

Through word-of-mouth, Sohigh Steel Shot gained a certain market share. Mr. Hou became the spokesperson for Sohigh, and national standard steel shot became the Sohigh standard. From then on, the Sohigh brand established a solid foothold in the national steel shot industry.

Today, Mr. Hou leads the Sohigh team, pushing national standard steel shot to new heights. From nothing to one, from one to a hundred, and through each milestone, the company continues to accumulate experience. In everything we do, innovation is key. The integrated development path of production and sales has been paved, and diversified Sohigh has broken through.
